Preppy & Pink Fall Outfits | Color Stories
Introducing my new blog series "Color Stories"! While working at Forever 21, I learned a lot when it came to fashion concepts, colors, textures, trends & etc. After leaving Forever, I found that I missed a big part of my job which was being able to be creative with building outfits from color stories & fashion concepts. Then it clicked, I could utilize the skills I learned while being a visual merchandiser to my blog so I could continue doing what I loved, just in a slightly different way!
For those of you who may not know what a color story is, it’s basically picking a group of colors, textures, patterns & trends that all work together to tell a fashion story. Ultimately creating, yup you guessed it, a color story! So here is the first of many color stories!
Colors: Light Pink, Magenta, White, Black
Textures: Denim, Tweed, Leather, Satin
Patterns: Glenn Plaid, Floral
Floral Top
For the first look I have a simple long sleeve floral top paired with the cutest pair of paper bag waist jeans that I am so in love with! The paper bag waist trend is still going strong & I find it to be super flattering. Accessorizing this look with a pearl hair clip that I am also seeing a lot lately!
Tweed Skirt
Tweed is about to be big this upcoming fall & winter, it gives such preppy & vintage vibes to any look. This whole outfit screams Blair Waldorf. She unintentionally was a big inspiration for some of these looks! This specific skirt is so girly & I love it so much, especially paired with these tall white boots from ASOS. (Similar pair here.)
Monochrome Satin Skirt
Y'all have already heard me rave about midi skirts & how they are one of the best pieces to have in your wardrobe as they are super comfortable & can be dressed up or down. I styled this magenta skirt with a sweater of a similar color to go for a monochrome look. I used to be scared to try a monochrome outfit but the belt & boots help break it up!
Leather Skirt & Fuzzy Sweater
I have been seeing these furry sweaters more & more & I am 100% okay with it. So warm & cozy for the upcoming cooler months. To edge it up a little I added a quilted leather skirt & a chain belt with pearls which I think is a super classy detail!. I am also absolutely obsessed with this beret, the glen plaid pattern is so preppy.
I really hope you enjoyed checking out these outfits just as much as I enjoyed creating them from this color story! There are many more to come with this series that I can't wait to share!
Lots of Love,
